Embrace, a member of the MSG Coalition, brought together community-based organisations from across the country for a webinar on the Maternal Support Grant (MSG).
The session was designed to strengthen the understanding of the grant and support organisation in advocating for this policy. Julie Mentor, Embrace’s Project Lead, facilitated the panel discussion with members of the MSG Coalition: Rahima Essop (DGMT), Palesa Ramolefo (Amandla.mobi) and Ukhona Mlandu (2023 Embrace Mamandla Fellow).
The speakers offered valuable perspectives on the evidence behind the MSG, its potential impact on maternal and child health, and the role of community mobilisation in advancing the campaign. As the conversation around the Maternal Support Grant grows, the MSG Coalition remains committed to equipping partners with the tools, knowledge and collective power needed to move the MSG from policy to lived reality for mothers.
