To support our Maternal Support Grant (MSG) advocacy, we have developed four social media graphics that illustrate why the grant is urgently needed and how it would be implemented.
Our first graphic introduces Nomsa, a single pregnant woman who is only eligible for support after her baby is born. It highlights the real consequences of food insecurity during pregnancy: low birth weight, increased risk of stunting, and the difficult choices mothers make when they cannot afford enough food.
The second graphic shows how a nine-month Maternal Support Grant could have changed the early outcomes for Nomsa’s daughter, Mika.
The third graphic explains what the MSG is and how it would work, and the fourth graphic sets out the MSG’s cost and value proposition.
