Location

Vacancy application deadline:

September 23, 2026

Role

Grow Great is recruiting for a Regional Coordinator to join their Grow Great Champions programme team on an indefinite contract. The Regional Coordinator will be supporting the Grow Great Phase III implementation in Gauteng.

About Grow Great Champions:

Grow Great Champions (GGC) works with government and partners to address stunting in children by strengthening the delivery of high-quality maternal, child health and nutrition interventions during the First 1 000 Days.

In Phase III, GGC is strengthening an integrated approach to preventing and reducing stunting, connecting support provided in households and communities with services delivered through primary healthcare facilities and other community platforms. The model focuses on promoting healthy growth and development, preventing nutritional risk, identifying and responding to growth faltering early and strengthening referral and continuity of care across the First 1 000 Days.

Role Overview:

The Regional Coordinator will lead the day-to-day implementation of the GGC Phase III model within the district, working closely with district and sub-district health teams, facilities, WBPHCOTs (Ward-Based Primary Health Care Outreach Team), CHWs (Community Health Workers) and community partners.

The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating implementation across participating facilities and communities, ensuring that the different components of the model work together effectively. This includes implementation planning, stakeholder coordination, supportive supervision, quality improvement, referral pathways, monitoring and data use, community partnerships and programme administration.

The Regional Coordinator will also support GGC Master Trainers and government trainers in building the capacity of CHWs and relevant facility staff. The role is not primarily a training role: its central responsibility is ensuring that the model is implemented consistently and with quality across the district.
