Youth unemployment is one of South Africa’s most urgent challenges — yet many people feel disconnected from the solutions. In a context of slow economic growth, increasing youth economic and social inclusion requires a whole-of-society effort and imagination.
How can we move from intention to action, and what will it take to build an inclusive, sustainable economic future for young people?
For this Perspectives Series session, Bridget Hannah (Innovation Director, DGMT) is joined by Dr Kate Philip (Programme Lead, Presidential Employment Stimulus), Tshego Walker (Director, Presidential Youth Employment Intervention, The Presidency), Sibusiso Gumbi (Director of Macroeconomic Policy, National Treasury), and Kyle Hendricks (Project Lead, Designers Without Borders SA & Community Facilitator, Youth Capital) for a dynamic discussion on the state of youth employment and the interventions we need now.
