Intestinal worms and their impact on child health and development is a major health issue throughout the country but particularly in rural areas where lack of adequate sanitation and the large number of free roaming livestock and domestic animals exacerbate the problem. Through their early childhood development programme the Angus Gillis Charitable Trust is trying to address the environmental and behavioural factors which aggravate the problem.
