The DG Murray Trust Gender-based (GBV) Violence initiatives are dedicated to improving the lives of women in South Africa. These initiatives are a bold demonstration of effective strategies to combat the pervasive crisis of Gender-based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). Our focus extends beyond mere intervention; we strive to model innovative solutions while providing crucial support to address gender-based violence head-on.
Social Welfare Financing Reform
DGMT’s strategy aims to improve civil society’s access to funding through an improved financing approach of the national Department of Social Development (DSD). Since 2013, DGMT has worked with the DSD and National Treasury to develop the Sector Funding Policy (SFP) and its tools for implementation.
Zero-rating mobile e-services
The project aims to secure the zero-rating of Public Benefit Organisations’ (PBOs) Internet offerings. This will enable those who cannot afford data to access resources that improve their knowledge capital and ensure that they are not excluded from the pace of innovation.
